At IMPACT Learning Center, grant funding helps turn ideas into action.
Each grant awarded to IMPACT supports our mission to provide educational opportunities that support and empower productive citizens in Jackson County, Alabama. From workforce development and digital access to civic engagement, family learning, student enrichment, and community-centered programming, these investments allow IMPACT to meet real needs and create meaningful opportunities for the people we serve.
We are grateful for the organizations and partners who believe in the work happening here in Jackson County.

GOOGLE GRANT
award amount: $30,000
Program Supported: IMPACT Works: Grow Jackson County Initiative
IMPACT Learning Center was awarded a $30,000 grant from Google to help support the IMPACT Works: Grow Jackson County initiative.
This funding supports IMPACT’s workforce development efforts by helping connect Jackson County citizens with learning opportunities, digital skills training, career readiness support, and pathways toward job-ready credentials. Through IMPACT Works, participants are able to access opportunities such as Grow with Google Career Certificate scholarships, free technology classes, workforce preparation resources, and ongoing support designed to help them build confidence and move forward.
The IMPACT Works: Grow Jackson County initiative was created to help remove barriers to education and workforce training by making practical, career-focused learning more accessible to local residents. By connecting participants with flexible learning opportunities and community-based support, IMPACT helps individuals explore new career pathways, strengthen their skills, and prepare for future employment opportunities.
Google’s support helps IMPACT expand access to programs that are designed to meet real workforce needs in Jackson County. This investment strengthens IMPACT’s ability to serve adult learners, job seekers, career changers, students preparing for life after graduation, and community members who are ready to take the next step toward their goals.
Because of this support, IMPACT Learning Center is better equipped to help Jackson County citizens build the skills, confidence, and credentials needed for today’s workforce.

IMPACT Learning Center was awarded a $3,000 grant from Huntington Bank to help support STEM Family Nights in Jackson County and Scottsboro City Schools.
This funding helps bring engaging, hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math learning opportunities to local students and families. Through STEM Family Nights, students have the opportunity to explore STEM concepts in a fun and interactive environment while families learn alongside them.
STEM Family Nights are designed to make learning exciting, accessible, and family-centered. These events give students the chance to build curiosity, strengthen problem-solving skills, and experience STEM activities in a way that feels creative, approachable, and fun.
By supporting STEM Family Nights, Huntington Bank is helping IMPACT Learning Center provide meaningful educational experiences that encourage students to explore new ideas, build confidence, and discover the value of hands-on learning.
Because of this support, IMPACT is better equipped to bring STEM enrichment opportunities to students and families across Jackson County and Scottsboro City Schools.

IMPACT Learning Center was awarded a $5,500 grant from the Ruth & Lyle Taylor Endowment Fund to help support the Liberty Learning Program in Jackson County and Scottsboro City Schools.
This funding helps bring engaging civics, character, leadership, and citizenship education to local students through the Liberty Learning Foundation’s programs. Through this partnership, students have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of citizenship, the importance of leadership, and the value of serving their schools, families, and communities.
The Liberty Learning Program supports meaningful educational experiences that encourage students to better understand American history, civic responsibility, character development, and the role they can play in making a positive difference. By helping bring this program to students in both Jackson County and Scottsboro City Schools, IMPACT is able to support learning that extends beyond the classroom and helps build stronger future citizens.
Because of the support from the Ruth & Lyle Taylor Endowment Fund, IMPACT Learning Center is better equipped to provide students across Jackson County with access to programs that inspire leadership, strengthen character, and encourage active community involvement.

Program Supported: The Summer of IMPACT
IMPACT Learning Center was also selected as a recipient of a $7,500 Thrive Civic Experiment Grant to support The Summer of IMPACT.
The Civic Experiments grant program, supported by Thrive Regional Partnership and the Trust for Civic Life, was designed to help local groups and grassroots projects spark connection, collaboration, problem-solving, and civic engagement across the tri-state Greater Chattanooga region. Thrive received 85 applications from organizations in 14 counties, totaling more than $1.28 million in funding requests, and selected recipients through a competitive review process.
Through this grant, The Summer of IMPACT will offer student-led educational opportunities for community members of all ages in Jackson County. From creative writing and crafting to hands-on learning and shared experiences, the program is designed to encourage intergenerational connection, community participation, and meaningful opportunities for citizens to learn from and with one another. Thrive’s announcement specifically recognized The Summer of IMPACT as a project led by IMPACT Learning Center to offer student-led education for community members of all ages in Jackson County.
This grant helps IMPACT create a welcoming space where learning, creativity, and community connection come together.

This funding helped strengthen IMPACT’s workforce development efforts by supporting programs focused on digital access, career readiness, skill-building, and educational pathways for Jackson County citizens. Through IMPACT Works, participants are connected with opportunities such as Grow with Google Career Certificate scholarships, free technology classes, workforce preparation, and other resources designed to help them gain confidence and move forward.
Thrive Regional Partnership works across the tri-state Greater Chattanooga region to inspire responsible growth, convene partners, and support communities as they grow in industry, prosperity, and population while preserving local character. Thrive’s footprint includes 16 counties across northeast Alabama, northwest Georgia, and southeast Tennessee.
Because of this support, IMPACT is better equipped to help Jackson County citizens build the skills, confidence, and credentials needed for today’s workforce.
